A: No. Please protect the original service medals by sending your photographs to V.I.P. Photo Memorials. Your photographs will be returned with your order. By using your photographs, it personalizes the service memorial/honor portrait and provides an opportunity to maintain a loving legacy of remembrance for a loved one that has past away.
A: All photos must be as clear and in-focus as possible. The better the photo, the better the results. We require a black/white or color photo(s) of the service person in their service uniform. A separate photograph(s) of the service medals with ribbons must be in color. (Please clean the medals/replace ribbons if possible prior to taking the color photo). A color photograph of any insignia you may want included, e.g. pilot wings, etc. Please do not send us your original photographs of the service person in their uniform. Protect your originals by sending us a quality copy. Please do not write on the back of any photographs as the imprint will show on the front of the photo. Size? Anywhere from 4"x6" or 5"x7" photograph is ideal, please, no larger than 8"x10". Photos will be returned with your order.
A: No. Photographs are scanned and the backgrounds will be digitally removed from all the images/photographs/scans. We use our own V.I.P. Honored Backgrounds for our service memorials and service honor portraits.
A: The best picture to use is with the service person alone and as close to the subject as possible. But, if this is not available and you only have one with an extra person in the photo, please let us know which service person you want in the memorial by attaching a piece of paper that will instruct us as to whom to use in the photo, e.g. first or second person.
A: All scanned digital files must be as listed in the above photographs/info section with the size being approx. 4" x 6", with a high resolution of 300 dpi, in jpeg format. Please crop the images as close as possible to the subject/service person/medals/ribbons, etc.Please separate the images and email them in one email as separate image/attachments. If the file is to large then separate the images into two emails.
A: Email your digital images to info@vipphotomemorials.com . You will receive a confirmation email that your digital images have been received and confirmation that the images are of acceptable quality to proceed with your order.
A: Yes. Upon selecting your product from our order section, you will then have the option to pay by mail or online. You can view and print our order form and mail it to the address on the form. Please remember to enclose your photographs and include your method of payment.
A: Yes. We accept photographs however, if you have a copy of the departmental crest as in a fire/law dept. then send that along with your order if you are using the mailing option. If you are emailing your order please scan and email us as the specs in the sections above.
A: The ceramic service memorial comes with its own pre-applied mounting backing that has a peel off cover. It is super tacky with no room for error. If you apply a small amount of clear, outdoor weather resistant silicone along the edges on top of the mounting tape backing, this is added protection for sealing and also allows you a little play room to adjust/place your ceramic on the monument. When it is exactly where you want it, then press in the center to secure it in place.
Q: I have a flat marker that won't allow for a ceramic memorial to be placed on it, is there anything else available for flat type markers?
A: Yes, we also offer enamelled stainless steel, especially designed for flat type markers, see order products section for sizes, pricing. Please contact your monument dealer or cemetery before ordering this style that has to be dropped down into the flat marker.
A: Your ceramic service memorial comes with U.V. protection guarantee, never to fade, or we will replace it at our cost.
A: Cheques, money orders (mail orders), and online orders for credit cards (Visa, MasterCard) available soon.
A: Depending on your mailing destination point, it will take approx. up to 6 weeks (from date order is received) for the ceramic memorial to be processed and sent to you. The service honor portrait processing and mailing is approx. 4 weeks.
A: We use UPS ground and also Express Post, a signature is required to receive your shipment.
A: V.I.P. Photo Memorials stands behind the quality & guarantee of every product we sell. Understandably, personalized items cannot be accepted for return except if your order is not 100% free from defects in materials and workmanship. Please feel free to contact us regarding any concerns.
